“Deserves” cuts both ways, in my mind. He should tell his side. Under oath. With full discovery. And I would not be surprised if he’d keep lying even after a pardon, because a narcissist can never admit such a mistake.

I'd bet money that Fauci doesn't care about having his day in court.

And, of course, on the left, the argument for these pardons is "because Trump", in this case because otherwise, Trump will harass them groundlessly.

I'd also like to add, since I'm old enough to remember the early days of HIV/AIDS, Fauci's "role" in *that* crisis as well is something for which there can be no pardon.

If you want a little Side Quest, read "Elephant Song" by Wilbur Smith. The writing is exquisite, and the premise is scary.

I was just reading Dr Marty Makary’s “Blind Spots” and Fauci’s arrogance was on full display in the HIV epidemic. There is no way of knowing how many hemophiliacs would have been spared if Fauci had been honest about the risk to the blood supply.

I really encourage you to read Elephant Song. It's fiction, but art imitates life, yeah?
